This song has a very soothing effect on me—like Rob. Whenever things are tough, Rob manages to put it into perspective just by pointing at Eli’s unassuming, innocent face and saying, “I know. And he has to bear the brunt of it.” It always makes me laugh, because Eli will not be involved whatsoever in the conversation but becomes pivotal based solely on his overwhelming cuteness and proximity. But more than that—it reminds me nothing is ever really that bad.
I cannot believe the price of gas. Absurd.
I know. And Eli has to bear the brunt of it—poor little guy.
We totally forgot about those leeks in the fridge and they went bad! That’s $9 wasted!
Oh, no! And think of Eli—he has to bear the brunt of it.
See how that works?
