How I’m dressing this fall, head to toe: Ralph Lauren’s “bohemian gypsy” looks from the Fall 2010 show knocked my proverbial beanie off. Turtlenecks under long dresses? (See: Vena Cava.) Genius. It’s like Candice Bergen-cum-Stevie Nicks, who coincidentally was the soundtrack to this show.

After 4 brutal Upstate New York winters, I never want to see a pair of jeans crammed into snow boots ever again. (Case in point: I started wearing sundresses around Christmastime last year.) When it turns cool again, this is my new formula.
Flowing skirts over tall boots, chunky belts and layers, and one snug black beanie—they remind me of a Vermont girl of the 70s, cruising farmer’s markets and antique shops, and unwinding by the fire in her stocking feet.
Well done, Ralph. Boho lives.
