I dragged Rob out to 9 Maple last night after cooking him dinner (bribery for martinis)—celebration of a tough week’s ending, also including a bottle of Cuvaison Pinot Noir we’ve been holding tightly to, like OJ to innocence.
Once out, Rob went the path of wisdom and ordered coffee—9 Maple has such swagger. Although I’m sure it’s meant for the Irish variety, it suits Rob to drink coffee in a Scotch bar out of a little handled glass mug. He owns it. I tackled a dirty martini and woke up today feeling like a million dollars; figure I used up all my good hangover juju for the rest of 2010 on that miracle. Rob used my knees as bongos and whapped away to the beats of the Joe Barna Quartet. Crazy good.
Mmm. Cuvaison. Stay tuned for Rob’s write-up; this bottle was something special.
Check out 9 Maple’s music schedule and you could get a chance to hear these guys again. Such a great night.
