Summer: I’d like a do-over, please.
A forgotten post. From a forgotten season. Unearthed during a routine mix-up between our two, identical Macbooks. I got more than a little nostalgic.
The empty grass behind me is ominous. Fitting that this was our last trip to the park; we have a way of being in the right place at the right, bittersweet time.
Looking at these I’m starting to think maybe I didn’t do summer full tilt. Easy to say, now that the opportunity has passed. The sunny mornings of July and August were almost threatening—especially to someone who cherishes sleep. As if to say, I knew I should be out enjoying every minute, when all I really wanted to do was lift my face to the ceiling fan, squeeze my eyes shut, and pull the covers up to my chin.
Speaking of which…
