Many thanks to the lovely Kristin Campbell, who bestowed upon me a collection of lovely vintage glass dishes in my favorite shade, turquoise:
Unbeknownst to her, she actually killed two birds one stone with this gift, if the birds were parrots, and parrots were my fetish. Except that I despise birds. {shiver of disgust}
In addition to my love of all things in this hue, I also have a huge thing for collections of mismatched colored glasses—and you’d better have glass-front cabinets; bonus points if you employ open shelving like this, which I have a major soft spot for:

So, thanks to Kristin for making her mark on my future dream kitchen… and indulging Rob’s nasty ice cream habit in the meantime!

I adore these (and kcampbell)! And I, too, have love for random vintage glass. I have a decent collection going so far. We just need some sun to shine through them. Hello, February in NY. Uck.
Omg, I hate birds too! Ever since I was attacked by one in 7th grade, I have hated them ever since! Ha, ha…:P
Beautiful bowls! The perfect pop of color! Do you have white open shelving?
Not yet, but it’s on the long list of ‘wants’ for a new home. Birds gross me out, dude. Little black tongues are the sign of the devil.
Oh by the way, I saw yesterday that Jennie @ The Coveted has purchased those JS t-strap’s in the pewter! We’ll see how she styles them! 😉
ooh I have to check that out. I twitter with her sometimes… I wonder if she saw the post? 😉 I bet she will look phenomenal. I would wear them with black tights in a heartbeat!
Those remind me of the Iittala bowls they make for Marimekko (http://www.finnstyle.com/iimabo.html). Those are the best things to collect, if only they weren’t so expensive! A bit like Marimekko bags really.
Totally unrelated to this post (but I do love those glass dishes!) – did you hear that Alexander McQueen committed suicide today? Such a loss!!
Yes. So terrible. Fashion just got a little less genius; a little less thoughtfully intimidating. Two things about it I love. Boo hiss.
The bowls/goblets (what ARE they called?) look so pretty in your window! Just leave them there. That way they’ll be nice and frosty for whenever Rob has a Chunky Monkey craving.
Very sad news about McQueen. Shame.
Great site…I also collect amber, and a few other vintage glass…love using them for dinner guest and blog photos!
