[Hoegaarden + Severe Severe + my Steven Tyler pants + earplugs = an awesome night of rock.]
We checked out our buddy B’s band on Saturday down in Albany at Valentine’s… excellent to be out and seeing live music that isn’t sponsored by, like, Ford or something. Got to see some old buds, only felt hard of hearing in one ear, and B killed it on the drums. And we got to see Marj, which was a super awesome surprise.
I was also excited to don these freaking outstanding pantaloons by Mara Hoffman. Favorite color? Check. Alien meets Alexander McQueen? Check. A little long for my sort of short frame? Also check, but no big beans. I snuck a beer in the car on the way down and we kept listening to that awesome audio book, which took those risque parts it toed the line with last time and just leapt over the parapet of filth. So much so that Rob took a wrong turn at one point when we were in hysterics over a scene.
[Severe Severe had a sound that I imagine would be the soundtrack to Less Than Zero. It was like a Bret Easton Ellis novel, but more compelling.]
[Those X’s for eyes mean serious beeswax.]
[Rob extracts some cash for beer transactions. Of course.]
Now begins some shabby, but well-intentioned outfit shots. [Sorry, manifesto. I tried.]
[And here are the leggings, so magical! Another post-birthday prezzie. From Shopbop, and worn with a variety of other ShopBop acquisitions: Paul & Joe sister booties, Alexander Wang tee and DKNY cozy shrug.]
[There’s Sir Hiss #2, courtesy Twinkle Studio! I rarely take him off.]
Sunday marked the most amazing and last of the post-birthday acquisitions; stay tuned. Hope you had a great weekend!

I Love the way those leggings look with the booties.
I think I’m gonna get myself a cozy too. I just read an interview where Elle MacPherson said she wore a cozy wrap cashmere sweater over something from her afterwear line with a pair of Uggs around the house. I am such a sucker:) But if it in any way makes me look like Elle, then I’m all over it.
Oh I’m addicted to her. Her bras are the only ones I will wear!
Omg, I almost bought those leggings! But questioned what I would wear with it, so I didn’t pull the trigger. But I’m glad you did! 😉 And they look fab with the shoes! Whahoo!
And isn’t it the best to hear a live band especially at small intimate venue? I swear there isn’t anything better! Love it. Got in some live tunage time Friday night myself.
Big thumbs up to Rob for keep’n the “supply” going! 😉
It was so fun! But deafening… the first couple of bands were… noisy. And like heavy heavy metal–haha! I saw your post on your night out! Looked awesome! I love how you took shots of people in the crowd, very cool.
The pants are crazy… not a lot of stretch (silk) and SKIN TIGHT except at the ankles. I don’t quite have the height of those lovely SB models.
Rob takes care of his wizzy wife. Oh yes.
ack! i have been drooling over those boots for forever but just can’t bring myself to buy another black pair. so sad, because they are gorge. those leggings are the raddest things i’ve ever seen too btw. looks like fun times!
YESS!! I made it in a post! WHOOPIE! Good seeing you guys too. Did I mention I got a FREE Severe, Severe sticker??? (wait, is there a comma in the official band name – let me check my sticker …)
I adore that you haven’t been stifled by the prevailing upstate fashion trends (i.e. sweat pants and bump-its)..and you go for it! Love the hiss…
Love the way your hair’s looking these days. I need a makeover.
Thanks, dingleberry! The postcard you sent me made my damned month. Haha! I always read the first line aloud down in the mail room to Rob and he cracks up about your salutation. Ingenious.
And you always get cool makeovers! I’ve had the same doodoo brown hair foreva!! I just am finally letting it go curly. Which you actually can’t see in that pic… but it’s so convenient. And obvi takes longer to do than make it straight like the old days. Ah, the fro.
I was at this show too, the bass player is my bf. B is a VERY welcome addition to the severe severe family!
Awesome! Glad to hear. See you at the next one!
