I had a dream last night that I was at a fried conch stand in the Bahamas flipping through a menu and there were caftans on it. Imagine that. “Blue caftan,” and “batik caftan.” I remember asking someone if you take them home, or if you wear them while you’re eating. She looked at me like I had 6 eyeballs.

Then I woke up all early and stuff to wash my hair before work since I had to do a sweep for ticks… those sweet little creatures of God.
We spent most of yesterday and last night scouring the woods and cemetery around a temple for my sister-in-law’s new dog, a tiny little dachshund mix who flew across a highway into a wooded abyss and has been missing ever since. Puppy: please come out. It’s too cold!
It was cold and sad but I couldn’t help but be struck by how beautiful it was out there in the late afternoon sun. I walked into some waist-deep brush and scared 6 giant turkeys into the air. I haven’t spent an hour like that, all by myself, for ages. It was peaceful and eerie. I followed a set of puppy prints I found in some mud but lost track when the trail ended.
Anyway, I’m tick-free and mightily preoccupied wondering where the little bugger is. I escaped into my blow-drying session with this album on my iPod. Its 70s-revival sound is so cool and authentic. Thanks to Bryan for introducing me to these guys.

(I really should have posted the Bonnaroo version of this, but wanted you to hear all the nuances of the album recording. Don’t the vocals sound just like Rick Danko?)
I dig the hell out of this blouse. The way it was styled by J.Crew made it really feminine and dressy; I had different sorts of plans, though. It sort of reminds me of Dolly Parton in “9 to 5″… so subsequently, I imagine my outfit is something a college grad in the early 70s would wear for a job interview. “Yo… like, it’s got buttons, man?”
Say your prayers for the tiny puppy. And for me; I’m so high on coffee right now I feel like I could catch a fly clear out of the air with my teeth. Or like I said to Murph, “I’m shaking and talking like my mouth was an open fire hydrant.”

I’m a college grad from the late 70s and it looks like this blouse can work for any age….unfortunately, don’t think I can pull off a fur vest any more!
